Genesis Catholic Online students experience learning that operates in a similar manner as an in-person learning environment. We have a structured schedule with attendance in the morning and afternoon. We also begin our week as a school community, joining together for Morning Broadcast led by our talented students.
Programming includes live online teaching where students and teachers interact with each other, as well as take part in small group and independent activities that are posted on Google Classrooms. It is important to note that all independent activities are first introduced by the teacher prior to students working on these. While students are independently working, the teacher is working with small groups or one to one with various students. After independent working time, teachers have students join together to consolidate learning, just like in an in-person environment.
Online learning lends itself nicely to small group learning opportunities and interventions. Students experience guided reading, guiding writing and guided math groups to reinforce concepts and push understandings further, key strategies in meeting learning needs of various learners.
Students registered with us learn necessary digital skills to allow them to be successful in all learning environments. We also believe it is important for students to develop hands-on skills and take part in hands-on learning experiences. Students have very specific school supplies purposefully created to blend both worlds for students, allowing them success in all environments.
